Duac gel is an antibiotic. It works by killing the bacteria that causes pimples on the face, back and neck. Duac Gel works by making use of two active ingredients known as clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide. The ingredients stop bacteria from reproducing and remove blockages from the skin pores. By fighting bacteria, Duac gel effectively produces results within one month
Duac may not be suitable if you use other medications to treat acne. Only use Duac Gel on your skin. Keep it away from areas like your eyes, lips, mouth, or inside your nose and avoid applying it to any irritated areas of your skin. Most people will experience some skin redness and peeling during the first few weeks of treatment. Avoid the direct sun when using Duac gel. Do not use this Gel if you have ever had gut problems. If you develop severe stomach cramps or diarrhoea stop using Duac Gel and contact your doctor immediately.
Apply the Gel once daily, preferably in the evening. Wash the area with warm water and pat dry before use. Use clean fingers to apply the Gel to the face. Use an oil-free acne wash.
The active substances in Duac Gel are clindamycin and hydrous benzoyl peroxide. The other ingredients are carbomer 940, dimethicone, disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate, disodium edetate, glycerol, silica (colloidal hydrated), poloxamer 182, purified water, sodium hydroxide clindamycin and hydrous benzoyl peroxide.
